30,000 HITS GIVEAWAY

I mentioned in a post last week that my blog was close to getting it's 30,000 th hit.  I also mentioned that I was going to do a giveaway to celebrate this momentous occasion.

This necklace has one of my favorite cats on it.  The polymer clay pendant is covered in resin and is attatched to 4 pieces of heavy gold chain.  The chains are attached to matching green cords and has a gold lobster claw with a heart on it.  The crystals and beads on the bottom add a little and they don't match on purpose.

If you would like to win this, leave me a comment and tell me one of your New Years resolutions.

On Saturday, December 31st, I am going to take all the names and have my sweetheart pick a name.  He likes doing that.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and get those comments in.

Merry Christmas Booboo, this ones for you.

POLYMER CAFE SURPRISE FOR TWO

Today I got my February issue of Polymer Cafe and on page 54 I was surprised to see two pictures.  The first one is a necklace made by my dear friend Judy Kelly (who is a on cruise coming back from Spain).  Not sure why my name is on the necklace too and that I live in Prescott, AZ.   I didn't know that either but that would be great for the summer when it's 118 degrees here.  Under Judy's picture is a mask made by another dear friend of mine, Lupe Meter (the very talented Lupe Meter might I add).

I just wanted to congratulate both of them for their great pieces.  Judy never wore jewelry until she started doing clay a couple of years ago and now she makes incredible pieces (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of the box).  As you can see by Lupe's mask, she does very beautiful, precise work.  I wish I had her patience.

GIVEAWAY

I noticed I have almost 30,000 visitors to my blog.  When it hits the 30,000 mark, I'm going to do a giveaway.  Haven't decided what it's going to be yet.  Maybe I'll give away a migraine or a pain in the back.  I have a lot of extra ones of those.  Keep checking back to see what it's going to be and how to win it.

Pinterest
I finally put up a Pinterest board.  It doesn't have much there yet but I'm working on it.  Come follow me if you want, I'm the one with all the pictures of the polymer clay and animals.

THE 15,000 VISITOR GIVEAWAY

Last weekend my blog received it's 15,000th visitor so I decided to do a giveaway to celebrate.

Since Monday is Valentine's Day, I'm giving away my heart (s).

I'm going to give away two sets of heart jewelry and some extra hearts.

All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog by this posting and tell me what you would really like for Valentine's Day.  Funny or not, I would love to know.

Next Sunday (the 20th) morning I'm going to have my sweetheart pick a number or name from the list of people who leave comments and I'll post the winners. You can leave as many posts as you want.  I'll put your name in the drawing as many times as you leave posts.

Here is the first giveaway:
The necklace and earrings were done with pearl clay on black clay using the Sutton Slice technique.  The earrings are on sterling silver ear wires and the necklace is on a slightly antiqued type of metal with my favorite toggle.  The other two hearts have no attachments so you can make what ever you want out of them.  If you click on the picture you can see them all closer.

This will be the gift for the second name drawn.  The heart is about 2 inches long and is hanging on a gold plated chain with my favorite toggle.  The small red and silver heart on the top has a bail on it and it was done using the Tina Holden Batik Shimmer method.  The other heart is silver and has a slight touch of rose to it.  It does not have a bail or any attachments.  All items in this give away have been done with Magic Glos and that's why they are so shiny.

Will be looking forward to all your comments and responses.  Thank you for visiting my blog and taking time to comment and I wish you all could win.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

TINA HOLDEN'S BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY AND A YOGA CLASS

If you are not familiar with Tina Holden http://beadcomber.blogspot.com/ you need to check out her blog, her Artfire shop http://www.artfire.com/ and her Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/beadcomber .
There is so much great information on her blog and free tutorials.  She did a blog on UV Resins which I thought was great, she did one about a printer and she gives you tips about polymer clay that you may not find any where else.  She is wonderful about answering questions and her tutorials are very precise and clear.  I bought her Shimmering Batik tutorial and I have made some things that people try to take away from me.
These are some pieces I did from Tina's tutorial.  The ones on the left don't have Magic gloss on them yet.

Here are some of the wonderful things Tina is giving away:

And Here's Tina.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA

My birthday is this Sunday but I'm a LITTLE older than Tina.

YOGA CLASS

My friend and I took our first yoga class this morning.  I'm feeling muscles I didn't know I had.  I don't know who invented yoga but they must of had a dark side.  If I wanted to put my butt up in the air against a wall and have someone pull my legs over my head behind me I would have joined a Chinese Circus.  We are going again on Wednesday, it's good for a laugh.  I heard one lady moaning but I think it was because her tights were about 4 sizes too small and some of those yoga positions call for really loose pants.

If the inventor of yoga is reading this, you are mean.

POLYMER CLAY EXPERIMENT, GIVEAWAY AND SCARF FOR SOLDIERS AND ANNIE NEEDS A PRAYER

I bought the tutorial called Batik and Shimmering from Tina Holden at http://beadcomber.blogspot.com/.  It's a wonderful technique but I screwed it up somehow.  My friend Lupe at http://miramecreations.blogspot.com/ did a beautiful job and made a pendant that she is giving away but don't bother commenting because I'm going to win it.

I did the same technique but I think I used too many inks.  Here are my beads that I did.
Each one of these pictures has a story.

These are the original sheets of clay I made.  I think too much ink.

After I baked them I tried doing the technique where you put liquid clay on them, let them level and then bake them for 12 minutes at 325.  The back of the clay burned, the large bead got too plastic looking.  I peeled the liquid off.

These have Magic-Glos on them.  As you can see, I couldn't leave well enough alone and I used my new stamp pads on them before I baked them.  I am a mad scientist at heart.

These also have been stamped.  Some of them have liquid polymer clay on them and the two bottom right ones have a resin coat on them that I just got in the mail.  One step UV resin.  No mixing.  I have to sand the sides and bottom and it's a little thinner consistancy than Magic-Glos.  Going to take some practice with that.

These also have the ink stamped on them and they have a layer of Magic-Glos around the outer edge.  Tina Holden suggests this as a way to stop the Magic-Glos from pulling in.  I'll finish them tomorrow now that the taxes are done.

SOFTENING OLD CLAY AND CANES

Found some old canes that didn't want to soften up and I couldn't decide what I wanted to do.  Had to buy a new coffee carafe today and saw this at the hardware store and remember reading that someone used this to soften their clay and canes.  It's a Mr. Coffee mug warmer.  I'll put a piece of cloth on it and put the clay on to warm it up.

SCARVES FOR THE MEN IN IRAQ

I told you I was crocheting a scarf for my club that will be donated to the 282nd Battalion in Iraq.  Well, they gave me the yarn and I mentioned it was 100% wool.  I got the yarn Friday and not realizing it, every time I worked on the scarf, I got a severe headache.  Finally figured out what the cause was and had to put a mask on to finish the scarf.  Either I'm allergic to the wool, the oils in the wool or it sat on a shelf or in a warehouse where there was mold and mildew.  I finished the scarf and sprayed it with that new Febreze.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, ANNIE NEEDS SOME PRAYERS

I know you all remember Annie the little Yorkie that my friends adopted right before Christmas.  She is 6 years old and came from a drug home where they raised pit-bulls for fighting.  Annie held her own but needed lots of food and lots of love.

This is a picture I took of Annie this past Sunday.  She was very lethargic and wasn't eating.  I held her for almost an hour.  My friends took her to the vet yesterday morning and Annie has a severe uterine infection and sepsis.  She's been given some major antibiotics but she's so small, she's really fighting.  She had tremors and was crying because the pain was so bad.

PLEASE SAY A LITTLE PRAYER FOR ANNIE.
